Hi, I'm Barbaro! I'm named after Barbaro the champion racehorse who won the Kentucky Derby in 2006. Barbaro means "barbarian" in Spanish, but in slang it also means "awesome" or "fantastic" and that sounds like me! You probably already noticed my beautiful red fur and permanent smudge-proof eyeliner! You might not be able to tell in photos, but I'm bigger than your average husky .. or you might say larger than life! I've even been called a gentle giant! I also have a deep big boy bark! I walk well on a leash, and am potty trained.
I'm generally pretty calm, but when there's other dogs around I'm always up for playing! I love the pack of dogs I'm living with here in my foster home. I had a rough life before, so it takes me a little longer to get comfortable with humans. I'm a loving dog who can't wait to find out how great life can be! Do you want to be the one who shows me? Fill out an app and mention me, the awesome Barbaro!

First, HELLO, I'm Buckwheat. Second, do you have a car? I ask because taking rides with my nose by an air vent is HEAVEN on earth. I'll be quiet and join you for your adventure!
I love babies, children and adults alike. I like most dogs, too. I'm gaining confidence communicating with other dogs and humans. I put out my paw when I want to play.
I LOVE walks and am REALLY easy on a leash! When we're done walking I can snuggle on or over you. No need for a weighted blanket, you'll have me!
Just to be transparent, I had a rash last year. Now that I have food that works for me I feel healthy and happy. The only goal we have now is taking treats gently. I just get so excited for good nums!
Apply to meet me, Buckwheat, and let's go for a drive!

I raise my food dish in celebration.....here's to a furry, loving, and very fun furever. Clang bang crash Well, that didn't work......
Hi, I'm Toast and now my food bowl has spilled all over the floor. Don't worry, I'll get the hang of this toasting thing. I think....
I'm about a year old and have a lot to learn, but boy do I know how to have a good time. I don't even try and I am always successful at getting my foster family to laugh!! What can I say, it's who I am! I really love meeting new people, especially kids!!!! The little ones are so fun! Yeah, they laugh the most. Even if I do whack them with my uncontrollable tail....whoops. I love toys, I love walks, I love when my foster kids play chase .... I love to bark, I run into glass doors, and I have a history of tripping when I sneeze. Like I said....I love to make people laugh.
I'm large, not quite in charge, and willing to please!!! Teach me all the tricks.....I work for treats!!! I try my best to be a gentle boy, but I haven't quite figured out how to use this enormous body of mine yet. I just want to have a good time. Take me on hikes, runs, camping ...anywhere with YOU. I just want a family of my own! Bonus if there are dogs to play with ....I really love to play!!!

My name is Miso. I'm ready for a new adventure! I'm back at Taysia Blue Rescue through no fault of my own.
I had my eye removed years ago so I'm used to it already. Do you have other dogs? I'd LOVE to play with them! I've been described as SUCH a good girl!
Did you notice how danty I am? I weigh just over 40 pounds and love to sit with my paws crossed. I'm fancy like that! If you give me time to adjust and get comfortable, I'm potty trained and will settle right in.
Apply to meet Miso in Colorado!

Want a pint-sized cuddle bug? I'm Nova!
I am new to Taysia Blue Rescue and slowly showing my personality. We KNOW I adore head scratches and being outside! I do AMAZING in my crate. I sleep through the night and can be patient in my crate while you're at work.
Also, we know I like to be around other pups. I came from a shelter and LOVED playing with my buddies there. I would probably shine best in a home with larger children as I'm obsessed with FOOD. I may have gotten busted stealing cookies off the counter, too. They just smelled so good!
As of this writing, I'm heartworm positive - boo!
BUT I've already started my medication and am ready to meet you - yay!
Apply to meet me, Nova!

Each year we save the lives of hundreds of Siberian Huskies and Alaskan Malamutes that are in immediate danger of being killed in area shelters. We do not have a facility; all our dogs live in volunteer foster homes where they get love and care and a little training until they can be placed in their forever homes. You can meet the dogs by either attending one of our weekend events or by submitting an adoption questionnaire as part of our adoption process.
We are operating at full capacity. We typically have a waiting list of healthy Siberian huskies and Alaskan Malamutes that are in area shelters and running out of time. Because of this, we have to often turn down owners who wish to surrender their dogs simply because we do not have the space, we have to prioritize the dogs in immediate danger of being killed in shelters.
We would love to save more lives, but we need more foster homes, volunteer leaders and money to provide care. If you can't foster, please think about volunteering. If you don't have time to volunteer, please consider a donation. Together we can save the lives of these beautiful dogs.
Taysia Blue Siberian Husky Rescue is based in Omaha, Nebraska with a foster and volunteer network that stretches to metro areas of Lincoln, Nebraska, Denver and Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Northwest Arkansas.
So, what is a Taysia Blue? Taysia Blue is a real dog and the inspiration for starting the rescue. You can read more about "Tay" and her story by clicking on the "Who is Taysia Blue" menu item.
