Howl-o, I'm Tekla! I'm named after Tekla Butcher-Monson, a famous musher and daughter of Iditarod and Yukon Quest champion parents. I have extra long legs for running super fast, and I'm sure I could be a champion sled dog in Alaska if I had the chance! (I will settle for some long walkies though!) I'm also very intelligent. The humans say I have beauty AND brains! I'm a good girl, and I'm fun and easy to train! I very quickly learned my name, kennel, down, come, out of the kitchen, wait, and sit. By the time you read this I probably have even more skills! I am curious and playful with other dogs, and I get along very well with the two other husky girls in my foster home.
I am currently being treated for heartworm. Don't let that scare you - we can go ahead and start the adoption process in the meantime! Once my treatment is done, I expect to have a clean bill of health. I can't have too much excitement right now, but I've stayed happy and occupied with challenging stuffed Kongs and treat games. As a bonus I am crate trained and do well in my kennel. I also have a favorite fluffy bed that I love to nap on.

Boy, am I ready to meet you! I'm Shadow. I've had a very difficult past and am ready for a loving home. I'm new to Taysia Blue Rescue but I've already been described as super friendly and I love pets! Do you have fluffy friends for me? Great!
I wasn't cared for well in the past but just went to the doctor and got all ready for my new home with you. I'm getting used to living indoors. How divine! I'd love a soft spot to land and enjoy life. Could that be with you?

I. Love. You. Hi! Templeton here!
I love people, walks, and a spot to snuggle. I love elementary age humans and adult humans. I like a good dog buddy if they help lead me. ...So much love to share...
I have recently started medicine for Cushing's Disease. The good news? I take my medicine like a champ! I can't wait to feel better and show my true self and RELAX! Once I get my meds regulated I'll need them daily for life to keep my body healthy.
Ready to meet me and snuggle? Sweet! Inquire about Templeton!

It's fun times ahead with Tacoma! Ready for this? I'm kennel trained, good with all size dogs AND people and LOVE to be outside! Oh, the breeze!
I was rescued and started medicine right away to get me healthy. I had a tough life. I'm SO ready for the wind in my fur and a person to love. Since I was found roaming my foster parents watch the front door. (eye roll)
I don't jump up on you or try to jump the fence! I'm docile and sweet. ...And I'm really coming out of my shell now that I'm feeling better. I should warn you, I PULL on a leash. I'm just SO excited that I feel better and we're outside. Think you could work with me?
Put it in four wheel drive and come meet me! Apply to meet Tacoma!

Hi, I'm Tahoe! I'm big and stylish like a Tahoe SUV! I can be your luxurious, cozy snuggler or you can put me into 4 paw drive while we hike a trail together! I'm an all around good boy who loves treats and being praised! I'm good with kids, cats and other dogs.
I am currently recovering from a skin infection. I can't wait to be healed up and looking and feeling better! It turns out I'm allergic to fleas so I'll need to stay on an oral flea prevention and Zenralia from now on to keep me healthy and itch-free.
If you're ready to drive home with a sweet, beautiful husky, fill out an application and mention me, Tahoe!

Each year we save the lives of hundreds of Siberian Huskies and Alaskan Malamutes that are in immediate danger of being killed in area shelters. We do not have a facility; all our dogs live in volunteer foster homes where they get love and care and a little training until they can be placed in their forever homes. You can meet the dogs by either attending one of our weekend events or by submitting an adoption questionnaire as part of our adoption process.
We are operating at full capacity. We typically have a waiting list of healthy Siberian huskies and Alaskan Malamutes that are in area shelters and running out of time. Because of this, we have to often turn down owners who wish to surrender their dogs simply because we do not have the space, we have to prioritize the dogs in immediate danger of being killed in shelters.
We would love to save more lives, but we need more foster homes, volunteer leaders and money to provide care. If you can't foster, please think about volunteering. If you don't have time to volunteer, please consider a donation. Together we can save the lives of these beautiful dogs.
Taysia Blue Siberian Husky Rescue is based in Omaha, Nebraska with a foster and volunteer network that stretches to metro areas of Lincoln, Nebraska, Denver and Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Northwest Arkansas.
So, what is a Taysia Blue? Taysia Blue is a real dog and the inspiration for starting the rescue. You can read more about "Tay" and her story by clicking on the "Who is Taysia Blue" menu item.
