Howl-o, I'm Tekla! I'm named after Tekla Butcher-Monson, a famous musher and daughter of Iditarod and Yukon Quest champion parents. I have extra long legs for running super fast, and I'm sure I could be a champion sled dog in Alaska if I had the chance! (I will settle for some long walkies though!) I'm also very intelligent. The humans say I have beauty AND brains! I'm a good girl, and I'm fun and easy to train! I very quickly learned my name, kennel, down, come, out of the kitchen, wait, and sit. By the time you read this I probably have even more skills! I am curious and playful with other dogs, and I get along very well with the two other husky girls in my foster home.
I am currently being treated for heartworm. Don't let that scare you - we can go ahead and start the adoption process in the meantime! Once my treatment is done, I expect to have a clean bill of health. I can't have too much excitement right now, but I've stayed happy and occupied with challenging stuffed Kongs and treat games. As a bonus I am crate trained and do well in my kennel. I also have a favorite fluffy bed that I love to nap on.

Hi I'm Ranger! Welcome to Camp Husky! I enjoy the great outdoors and spending time in the backyard. Sometimes the humans have to bring me inside at night or I'd be happy to sleep under the stars! I know how to use a doggy door to go in and out and I haven't had any accidents in the house.
I am super shy right now, but I have a quiet curiosity and fondness for people who spend time with me. I'm slowly opening up to my foster family. I've been quite stoic, but I do love food and lately I've started to get very excited when I know it's time to eat! I have a calm energy and I'm very tolerant of other dogs, but so far I don't interact with them much. When I was in the shelter I was paired with an even shyer dog who became more confident by spending time with me.
Are you looking for a buddy to enjoy quiet times, snacks, and the kind of peace you only find under open skies? Fill out an application and mention me, your park Ranger!

Hi! My name is Olympus (aka Ollie) and I have conquered the highest mountain! When I came to rescue I was uncomfortably itchy and had lost a lot of my beautiful fur. I was still a sweet and loving boy though! After lots of tests, supplements, medicated baths, and diet changes we discovered my skin condition was likely caused by hypothyroidism. Once I started thyroid meds my energy levels increased, I stopped itching, and my scaly skin turned into peach fuzz. Now my face and paws have filled in and the rest of my body is getting new fur!
Now that my body is healing and I feel good, my foster family has learned so much about me! First of all, I'm calm, sweet, gentle and quiet. I LOVE people, attention, and cuddles. I'm not overly needy though, I mostly hang out curled up on the couch. I'm a little shy when I first meet people out in public, but I warm up quickly. I am very gentle and tolerant with kids, even when they're super snuggly and huggy!
I do amazing in my crate and have also done well free roaming when my people are gone. I will wait by the door for a minute or two after you leave, but then go back to my comfy couch. I'm non-destructive if you keep your things picked up (I may have taken the opportunity to nibble a glove and a pair of sunglasses once - oops!)
Overall I'm low to medium energy. I can go for a 2-3 mile hike, but I don't need a ton of exercise. I do great on car rides and walk well on a leash!
I enjoy meeting calm dogs, but I don't appreciate overly playful dogs who get in my face. I wouldn't mind another calm dog sibling who gives me space. I could also live very happily as an only dog getting all the attention and snuggles for myself! I'm very interested in bunnies and the neighbor's cat, so I should probably have a home without small animals.
If you're willing to share your couch with me, fill out an application and mention Olympus!

My name is Curie and I'm looking for my family.
You see, I had a family but their life changes meant I needed to come back to rescue. I'm doing okay in the foster home but REALLY excited for my final chapter and my new adventure!
I am one smart cookie, all right! I can open lever doors and don't mind helping myself to yummys on the counter. If you're an active family and looking for a lady to bond with, that's me!
If you have other laid back puppers in the house, that's okay, but I wouldn't mind being the only dog if you'll be home with me. ...Best to stay away from cats and other small critters since I'm a typical husky. I'm living with other dogs now and seem to be potty trained, just fine.
I've been described as a sweetheart by my foster dad. See? I'm a gem! Apply to meet Curie!
